Dave & Kayla | McNay Art Museum Engagement Session, San Antonio, TX

Dave grew up in the north. Far north, where summer sun doesn’t scorch the earth and winter temps require thick coats and staying indoors. Kayla, was born and raised in Texas. San Antonio, to be precise. Though they came from two very different places, their core values were exactly the same. Family, faith, caring for others and doing what’s right. It was that simple.

They both held fast to that when college years came and went. While friends settled down, both Dave and Kayla had a strong sense that when they met the right person, they’d just know it. It took their family setting them up to make that happen.

Dave saw a photo of Kayla and knew immediately he wanted to meet her. Kayla, shy and content, wasn’t sure about going on a blind date. She almost canceled at the last minute. One date is all it took… it wasn’t long and the two of them started making long term plans.

Their love for each other is genuine and sweet. He adores her, the way you’ve read about in books or see in movies. There isn’t a single thing he wouldn’t do for her. He’ll love her his whole life long.

Kayla treasures that in Dave. He’s a lot like her father… who still dotes on and adores her mom. She wanted a man like her dad… and a marriage like theirs. Tomorrow, she’ll get her wish.

Their engagement session at the McNay Art Museum was a beautiful backdrop to celebrate their love for each other, in the city that brought them together.

Dave and Kayla, I cannot wait to photograph your wedding tomorrow at The Lost Mission. I’m so honored that you choose me to capture your day. Try and get some sleep tonight. 🙂

With love and gratitude,

Kate
