Blythe & Austin | Dallas Arboretum Engagement

What do chilly, gray winter days look like in Dallas?  Surprisingly beautiful, when you are at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens!

It has been years since I’d been there, but last week I ended up there twice!  First, with Blythe and Austin, to photograph their Engagement session.  Blythe and I met almost 5 years ago now when I photographed her sister’s wedding!  While we haven’t seen each other since that day, it felt like catching up with an old friend.  We talked about how Blythe and Austin met, fell in love and his romantic proposal at The Oasis, overlooking Lake Travis, in Austin.

Even though it was cold, we had fun and I can’t wait to photograph their wedding this May at Lost Oak Winery in Burleson, TX!

Did you know the Dallas Arboretum hosts weddings?!  That was a complete surprise to me and I was smitten with the Spanish style tiles, white brick and rod iron fencing.  If you are looking for an intimate venue with a stunning backdrop, consider checking out the Dallas Arboretum!

Even though these crepe myrtles weren’t blooming – they were a stunning backdrop!

I always try to do a celebratory shot when we finish the session:).

Thank you so much Blythe and Austin.  You two were absolutely amazing, so patient… when I saw squirrel after squirrel.  😉  lol!

With gratitude,

Kate
