I remember meeting Lizzie back when she was in High School. I’d met her parents by becoming a patron of their printing business, and they’d decided long before I had, that I was going to marry their son, Jonathan. My Mother-in-law kept finding reasons to invite me to family parties, outings, etc., where I was the only non-family member. Being honest – it was awkward. But for those who had the privilege of knowing Lynn, she had a way of drawing you in. Making you say yes to things you’d usually say no to. She had a quirky, fun and spontaneous way of making complete strangers feel like old friends in a matter of minutes. So, it’s fair to say – I fell in love with my husband’s parents, long before I fell in love with him.
When I was the newest guest at the table, I recall how Lizzie made me feel welcome. She was quiet, at first, but made me laugh… and I liked her right away. Though she was much younger, she was mature and generous. Which made becoming a part of her big, boisterous Italian family so much easier. Yes, my in-laws had it right. I married their son 18 months after meeting their family. 🙂
But that was then – this is now. Lizzie has created a beautiful life of her own. One I got to share, albeit briefly, on a cold Michigan day in late November 2013. I got to meet her daughter. See where she and Jeff call home… and document some sweet family moments. And it was: truly. picture. perfect.
So meaningful: Grandma’s Rose.
Hebrews 12:1 “we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses.”
Grateful to be a part of your family, Lynn. Truly, truly grateful.
Adoration.
One of my favorite B&W’s to date.
Ok, so I love seeing myself here;).
Big sister <3
We say so much, with just a simple touch.
